The ‘eye’ is a little down from your side.

Yes, your view is closer to the equator whereas our view is from the northern hemisphere, and where I am, north of the Tropic of Cancer.

That was my first picture of a full moon, James! I happened to look out the glass sliding door and there was the moon low in the east! Heheh, beguai ngambi camera! I didn’t even use a tripod, just had my camera and arm propped on the kids’ swing set.

I saw a full moon yesterday, around 7pm when finish my Thursday late night shopping. Before that, I did noticed the mood over here were kinda half half (divided by two; being cut off by night clouds which be interesting shots to take..unfortunately..so malas that time to take-out my SLR camera ;p )

That was a very lucky shot you took there. Wish the shot were more sharp (I guess the use of the tripod are the answer? hehehe).

The full moon was actually on the 27th, and it continued till about 8.30 p.m. last night. I took the moon shots after 9.00 p.m. so technically it was already a Waning Gibbous, but that early in the waning stage, the shadow was not visible yet.

Maybe the tripod will produce a sharper shot, but I think I should use a remote to release the shutter as well. I don’t have a remote yet. :-) If my telephoto lens is bigger than 300mm maybe the shots could be sharper and better???

Anyway that was only the 3rd time I have tried photographing the moon using a telephoto. The first attempt was a total failure because I did not know there was a technique involved in photographing the moon. Now I know better!
